With over 1,000 single effect device patches and 200 Combinators, Pureffects provides some of the most unique and powerful audio effect processing on the market. From subtle warm compression to distorted chaotic feedback oblivion—and everything in between, Pureffects contains the power to completely reshape any sound you throw at it.

What is Pureffects?

Pureffects ReFill for Propellerhead Reason 6

Well, you’ve bought Reason 6 right? So now what? Pureffects is what.

In a Nutshell. . . it’s an effects-only ReFill which is not genre-specific. You supply the sounds and Pureffects will process them in thousands of different ways. From Drums, Loops, Pads, Synths, Basses, Guitars, Special Effects, Textures, and any audio really, the effects are designed to handle it all. 100% Pure ideas. 100% pure creativity. 100% Pure Effects.

With over 1,000 single effect device patches and 200 Combinators, Pureffects provides more than enough depth; from subtle warm compression to distorted chaotic feedback oblivion—and everything in between. So take all those brand new shiny sounds from the revamped Factory Sound Bank, or record a few new audio tracks, and then let Pureffects lead the way.

Do you perform live? Several of the Combinators are built to take your “live sets” to a whole new level. Use your keyboard or pad controller to play the effects “live” and create your own effect chain sequences with the press of a few keys or pads. Everything is pre-built to take full advantage of all the effect devices that Reason provides, with a heavy focus on the Pulveriser, The Echo, and the Alligator.

Not sure if this ReFill is right for you? I can appreciate that. I’m a picky ReFill purchaser as well. That’s why I’m providing a few free patches and the full PDF “User Guide” as part of the Pureffects Demo so you know exactly what you’re getting.

Finally, I want to make sure you get the most out of this ReFill, and I want it to be something that you will use for many versions to come. If you have a question, an idea for improvement, or you’re just not sure how something works, please get in touch with me at webmaster@reason101.net. I always answer emails personally and I do my best to answer promptly.

    1. Everythingbutthegirl,
Lol. Well yeah, that’s probably the majority of where my time has been spent. I’ve been patch-making like crazy. Not just that, but also many new sounds, new ideas for tutorials, my day job… it all adds up. 🙂

    1. Mick,
Thanks. I figured that since the Reason 6 update is centered around 3 new effects devices, it just made sense to put together an effects-only Refill. Hope you enjoy it!

    1. Holly,
I’m really glad you are enjoying it. The Alligator patches were some of my favorites to make, even if they were the most time-consuming. 🙂 Feel free to ask any questions you may have as you work with it. I’m always happy to help you out.

      Rob

    1. @everythingbutthegirl,
I plan on doing some videos shortly. Just have to sort out a few things first. It seems like I always have about 10 different things going on at once: Music, Tutorials, Sound Design, my day job. But I don’t want to sound like a complainer. I’d rather be busy than stagnant. So there will be more to come.

And thanks for thinking about getting the Refill. For now, at least, enjoy the demo files. 😉

      All my best,
      Rob

    1. Jason,
Thanks! I keep trying to push the limits in new ways. Hopefully this Refill will not only provide a massive library of patches for you, but also show you some new tricks you may not have thought about.

      All my best,
      Rob

    1. @Jefferson,
It’s pretty big. The most massive project I’ve done for Reason to date as a matter of fact. So I hope you enjoy it when you pick it up. In the meantime, have fun with the free Demo ReFill. Cheers! Rob

    1. @DJs Only,
Thanks for commenting. I think anyone purchasing this ReFill will be pleased with the effects. With 1,250 effects, and many possibilities with the Multi-FX Combis, I find it highly improbable that you won’t find SOMETHING useful in it. 😉 All my best,
      Rob

  1. Rob:

I am sorry I missed your discount window; I think the Internet got all cranky on me after trying to DL R6 on the first day.

Just got your refill. I am really loving the feedback modules. Feedback from guitars back into tube amps is just about my favourite sound/thing–and it accounts for much of my hearing loss over the last 35 years. I haven’t really looked at anything else yet but I am really grateful to see that feedback is getting it’s due. I am not sure that your refill is going to make me at all productive, there looks like just so much to explore.

I would love to see more of your tutorials dealing with how you have learned to tame feedback. Totally freaking awesome!!! And now I am wondering how your glitchbox is going to deal with the feedback modules. Mad scientist time. I wonder what strange attractors will assert themselves.

    Thanks.

    1. @Brad,
Thanks for the two posts here. I’ll try and work on a full-blown tutorial on taming feedback. It mainly comes down to keeping the “Feedback” knob in a usable but unpredictable range and setting that on a Combinator knob. Also toying with some of the parameters of the device that’s going through the feedback loop. A lot of trial and error with that.

I’m glad you are enjoying the ReFill. It was a lot of work and a long-time coming. So it’s nice to see people getting lost inside it. Nothing could make me happier than to know you’ve got your money’s worth. I have to admit, when all was completed, I started making some songs and getting lost in it as well. It’s nice though, to take a step back and actually use these patches in some creative ways of my own.

Thanks again for the kind words, and if you create any music with the patches, please let me know. I’m always looking to see what you guys come up with.

      Rob

  2. Now that I have explored (with an 8 bar pad loop) beyond the feedback modules highlighted in your video tutorial, I am pretty amazed at the depth of what you have created here. I think your full price was a complete and total bargain; and frankly, it was way underpriced. I haven’t even gotten into the Alligator and Pulverizer patches yet; just been playing with The Echo and Scream patches. Wow, two hours gone, just like that.

  3. I fiddled with your effects refill for about 2 1/2 hours last night. After breaking away from the feedback modules you had in your video, I played with the Echo and Scream ones. I haven’t tried out the Pulverizer or Alligator or other subgroups. But I was seriously impressed. This is a tremendous value, if anything, it is way underpriced. Wow!

  4. Massive Thanks Phil.
As far as refills goes, I’ve always preferred effect heavy vrs loops.
This has to be the best effect refill as to date.
I’ve only just touched the surface in the last half hour, but i’ve already made some killer samples.

    Beyond awesome.
    James

    1. James,
Thanks so much for your comments. I’m really happy that you’ve found some good uses for the effects. Hopefully I’ve given you enough to get lots of creativity out of it. Let me know if you have any questions or ideas for any updates in the future. I’m all ears.
      All my best,
      Rob

    1. Will,
I’m glad you are enjoying it. Do let us know if you create anything magical with it. I’d love to showcase a few songs that people have done using the ReFill. Cheers!
      Rob

    1. @William,
Thanks so much for saying. I’m glad you are enjoying it. Let me know what you come up with while using it, as I’d love to hear what you do with my patches. Often times, it is something totally unexpected for me. And it gives me new ideas. 🙂

  5. Amazing sir! You are a Reason genius. I recommend this site too all my user friends! I will be picking this refill up when I got some extra bones :*(. Thank you for this site Mr. Rob you’ve changed my production game from “suck” to “that sounds pretty cool”. I’ll be sure to contribute! Thanks again! I visit this site every day.

    1. @Charles,
Thanks for your kind words. I’ve been taking a bit of a break lately, but there will be many more tutorials coming. 🙂 So please keep stopping by. And if you have any questions about the ReFills, or anything else, please don’t hesitate to ask. All my best!
